My Goal

My goal is to help all my patients recover from any ailments, not only physically from a musculoskeletal perspective but by also evaluating the patient as a whole, taking into account their spiritual, emotional and mental health and well being. I strive to teach my patients techniques and methods that they can easily practice on their own and at home and encourage my patients to be proactive with their health and wellness.

What I do currently

I am a consultant and educator in the high school setting, teaching Sports Medicine and Medical Core. I teach my students general health and wellness, anatomy and physiology, concepts of biomechanics and motor control learning, as well as concepts in sports medicine that encompass evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and administrative responsibilities in the athletic training setting.

My goal as a teacher is to inspire my students, whether or not they pursue Sports Medicine or Athletic Training. My intention is to give my students all the tools they need in their tool box to make well informed choice about life. I also make great efforts to serve as a mentor for our young generation.

What I've done previously

I also practice as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Select Medical teaching performers Injury Prevention at a major theme park in Anaheim.

My responsibilities include creating and managing conditioning and circuit programs that encompassed many different forms of fitness (Pilates, TRX, use of free weights, theraband, and other equipment) to teach our cast so they could maintain their bodies for their roles at the park.

I worked with a variety of age groups, ranging from young patients that are 18 years old to older cast that were in “retirement ages.” Aside from promoting practicing regular strengthening and cardiovascular exercise to our patients, I also helped educate them on the importance of hydration and proper shoe wear. I have learned to teach and present information and techniques pertaining to prevention of injury in the performing arts population as well as athletic and general populations in both an educational institution and corporate setting.

I possess proficiency in current medical treatment practices, procedures, protocols, instruments, equipment, and regulatory requirements. And I possess knowledge of techniques to assist with evaluations of injuries and skills to implement with rehabilitation treatment, such as Gavilan Technique, Kinesio-taping, PRT (Positional Release Therapy), and the McKenzie Method and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
